LANSONES..!!

Super addicted na talaga ako sa prutas na ito.. Everyday na lang ata, gusto kong kumain nun.. Pag nagcocommute me (as if naman hindi lage), pag may nadadaan me fruit stand, i'd really buy lansones.. Sarap..!! Minsan, when I'm with my buddhist friends, we'd buy 1 kilo (split into two) tapos we'd eat it habang naglalakad papunta sa aming destination.. At maghahanap talaga kami ng place kung san we could sit and finish it all up..! Mahal na nga lansones ngayon eh.. Dati P25 per 1/2 kilo, ngayon P35 na.. Kahit na ganun, no choice but to buy..

Alamat ng Lansones

(diba dapat pag alamat ibig sabihin kung ssan nagsimula? eh sa kwento, meron na talagang bunga na lansones.. ang alamat dito kung paano naging edible 'to! hay.. nothing beats Alamat ng Pinya!!)

Tumunog ang kampana sa munting Kapilya ng isang nayon sa bayan ng Paete, lalawigan ng Laguna. Napabalikwas si Manuel at masuyong ginising ang nahihimbing na kabiyak. "Gising na Edna, at tayo'y mahuhuli sa misa." Marahang nagmulat ng mga mata ang babae, kumurap-kurap at nang mabalingan ng tingin ang asawa ay napangiti.

Mabilis na gumayak ang mag-asawa upang magsimba sa misang minsan sa isang buwan idinaraos sa kanilang nayon ng kura paroko ng bayan. Hindi nagtagal at ang mag-asawa ay kasama na sa pulutong ng mga taga-nayong patungo sa Kapilya. Magkatabing lumuhod sa isang sulok ang magkabiyak at taimtim na nananalangin. "Diyos ko," and marahang panalangin ni Edna, "Patnubayan mo po kami sa aming pamumuhay, nawa'y huwag magbago ang pagmamahal sa akin ni Manuel." Si Manuel naman ay taimtim ding dumadalangin sa kaligtasan ng asawa, na alam niyang nagtataglay sa sinapupunan ng unang binhi ng kanilang pag-iibigan.

Nang matapos ang misa ay magiliw na inakay ni Manuel ang kabiyak at sila'y lumakad na pauwi sa kanilang tahanan. Sa kanilang marahang paglalakad ay biglang napahinto si Edna.

"Naku! kay gandang mga bunga niyon," ang wika kay Manuel sabay turo sa puno ng lansones na hitik na hitik sa bunga. "Gusto ko niyon, ikuha mo ako," ani Ednang halos tumulo ang laway sa pananabik. Napakurap-kurap si Manuel. Hindi niya malaman ang gagawin. Alam niyang ang lansones ay lason at hindi maaring kainin ngunit batid din naman niyang nagdadalang-tao ang asawa at hindi dapat biguin sa pagkaing hinihiling. Sa pagkakatigagal ng lalaki ay marahan siyang kinalabit ni Edna at muling sumamong ikuha siya ng mga bunga ng lansones.

"Iyan ay lason kaya't hindi ko maibibigay sa iyo." Pagkarinig ni Edna sa wika ng asawa ay pumatak ang luha. Sunod-sunod na hikbi ang pumulas sa kanyang mga labi. Parang ginugutay ang dibdib ni Manuel sa malaking habag sa asawa ngunit tinigasan niya ang kanyang loob.

Masuyong inakbayan ni Manuel ang asawa at marahang nangusap. "Huwag na iyan ang hilingin mo, alam mo namang iya'y lason. Hayaan mo at pagdating natin sa bahay ay pipitas ako sa duluhan ng mga manggang manibalang."

Walang imikan nilang tinalunton ang landas patungo sa kanilang tahanan. Ang maaliwalas na langit ng kanilang pag-iibigan ay biglang sinaputan ng ulap. Ni hindi sinulyapan ni Edna ang mga manggang manibalang na pitas ni Manuel sa kanilang duluhan. Ang babae'y laging nagkukulong sa silid, ayaw tumikim man lamang ng pagkain at ayaw tapunan ng tingin ang pinagtatampuhang asawa.

Hindi nagtagal ang babae'y naratay sa banig ng karamdaman. Hindi malaman ni Manuel ang gagawin sa kalunoslunos na kalagayan ng asawa."Edna, ano ba ang dinaramdam mo?" lipos na pag-aalalang wika ni Manuel habang buong pagsuyong hinahaplos ang noo ng maysakit.

Marahang iling lamang ang itinugon ng nakaratay at dalawang butil ng luha ang nag-uunahang gumulong sa pisngi. Balisang nagpalakad-lakad si Manuel sa tabi ng maysakit. Hindi niya matagalang tignan ang payat na kaanyuan ngayon na kaibang-kakaiba sa dating Ednang sinuyo niya't minahal. Wala na ngayon ang namumurok na pisngi, ang dating mapupungay na mga mata'y malalamlam, wala na ang ningning ng kaligayahan, maputla ang dati'y mapupulang mga labi at mistulang larawan ng kamatayan.

Noong hindi na niya makaya ang damdaming lumulukob sa kanyang pagkatao ay mabilis siyang nagpasiya. Kukunin niya ang mga bunga ng lansones. Ang bunga ng kamatayang pinakamimithi ng kanyang asawa. Sa wakas ay isinuko rin niya ang katigasan ng kanyang loob, dahil sa matinding habag sa kabiyak.

Nanaog siya at tinungo ang puno ng lansones. Nanginginig ang kamay na pinitas ang isang kumpol ng bunga ng kamatayan.

"Diyos ko, tulungan mo po kami, pinakamamahal ko ang aking asawa at wala ng halaga sa akin ang buhay kung siya'y mawawala pa sa aking piling," nangangatagal ang mga labing marahan niyang naiusal kasabay ng mariing pagpikit ng mga mata. Sunod-sunod na patak ng luha ang nalaglag sa pagkagunitang ang bungang iyon ang tatapos sa lahat ng kanilang kaligayahan.

Sa pagmumulat niya ng paningin siya'y nabigla. Anong laking himala! May nabuong liwanag sa kanyang harapan at gayon na lamang ang kanyang panggigilalas noong iyon ay maging isang napakagandang babaing binusilak sa kaputian. Humalimuyak ang bangong sa tanang buhay niya ay noon lamang niyang masamyo. Sa tinig na waring isang anghel ay marahang nangungusap ang babae. "Anak ko, kainin mo ang bungang iyong hawak."

Nagbantulot sumunod si Manuel sapagkat alam niyang ang bungang iyon ay lason. Sa nakitang pagaalinlangan ni Manuel ay muling nangusap ang babaeng nakaputi. "Huwag kang matakot, kainin mo ang bungang iyong hawak." Pagkasabi noo'y kumuha ng isang bunga sa hawak na kumpol ni Manuel at ito'y marahang pinisil.

Mawala ang takot ni Manuel at mabilis na tinalupan ang isang bunga ng lansones. Anong sarap at anong tamis! Nang ibaling niya ang paningin sa babaeng nakaputi ay nawala na ito. Biglang naglaho at saan man niya igala ang kanyang mata ay hindi makita. "Salamat po, Diyos ko!" ang nabikas ni Manuel. Biglang sumigla ang katawan ni Manuel at hindi magkandatutong pinitas ang lahat ng mga bungang makakaya niyang dalhin at nagdudumaling umuwi sa naghihintay na asawa.

(Not The News Shows)

Nowadays, 24 hour stores or establishments are fast emerging. Then it was only 7-11 which is famous for being open for 24 hours. I also knowof Goodah (the gotahan) which are open not only for 24 hourse, but 25 hours. Imagine that! And who could forget Wendy's. Now, some branches, if not all, of Jollibee, McDonalds, Chowking are also open for 24 hours. Does this mean 24 hours is not enough? People are becoming super dooper busy that 24 hours are not enough for a day. What's next? A 24 hour Mall? Can you imagine shopping in a mall for you favorite pants or shirt at 3:00 am? Or watching a movie you failed to see that day or night at around 4:00am? It may be good for some establishment to open for 24 hours, for it may be of help to those working really late at night or for those who go home really late. I don't like the idea of more stores/establishments opening for 24 hours. I'm just afraid that the value of time will be lost. No one will give importance to time anymore.

Since July 3, 2006, iba na ang schedule ng primetime shows sa ABS-CBN and even sa kanilang Public Affairs shows.. Telenovelas then by 10:30pm Sharp, Bandila na.. Yung new News Show nila na kapalit ng Insider.. Korina Sanchez is back sa news anchoring.. I really like her.. Then after nun, Public Affairs na o minsan sitcoms.. Dahil sa changes sa schedule ng shows, naapektuhan na din yung aking sleeping habits.. Maaga na me nakakatulog.. Kasi maaga na rin natatapos yung mga shows ng ABS.. Hindi ko alam na makaka-affect sa pagtulog ko yung changes nila.. Psychological siguro?.. I dunno.. Pero it works ah.. Maganda rin yung ginawa nila.. At least maaga ng nakakatulog ang mga tao.. Masama na rin sa health ang nagpupuyat.. Bababa ang blood level mo.. Unless may insomia ka.. Tulog na tayo.. zzzZZZzzz...

Children. It was my first time to be part of the Boys and Girls Division in-charges. We are tasked to take care of the children while their parents are in a Study Meeting. It's like day care center. It is from 1:30 - 3:00 pm only. This happens every first Sunday of the month. I was in-charge in showing the kids an experiment on Solubility. It was fun. As usual, the kids are makukulit. Thanks to these, I'm starting to learn the virtue of patience.

Pacquiao. Yah, he won. Yaman na niya.

Anniversary. It's Artistang Artlets' 26th anniversary. Went to UST for the usual celebration at Lover's Lane. I came at around 3:30pm. It was almost done. Ate jellyace and barbecue. Then after..

DOTA. It was still early. The sophies decided to play DOTA. Julz who was very excited on that idea, decided to come and asked me to do the same. As we were walking from UST to Dapitan, he was telling me all I need to play DOTA. By the way, an apprentice was also with us. We were divided into two groups. 1st group - Gab (pudum pudum), Anne (cookie), Mingu (chenelyn), Godfrey (Reap). 2nd group - Me (goddess), Julz (Chanda), Jon (Jon is evil), Gabchi (gabchilog), Avery (Computer Bano). Sana tama ang recollection ko. It was fun and something new for me. I might play some again if schedule permits.

Literally na about sa ahas tong post ko.. Hindi yung ibang connotation nito.. Well.. I don't know kung bakit ako takot sa ahas.. As in I really don't know how it started.. Wala akong recollection na sometime in my childhood eh may na-ecounter ako na ahas.. Yikes..!! Super takot talaga ako sa ahas, kahit pictures lang.. Kaya nga hindi ako naglagay ng pix dito sa post ko eh..!! Pero hindi naman kasali yung cartoonish pictures of snakes.. Sa encyclopedia, pag nagbabasa ako, talagang iniiskip ko yung part na may snakes.. Eh yung sa encyclopedia pa naman iba't ibang snakes pa ang nandudoon.. Sa TV naman, siyempre channel surfing.. Minsan nalipat ko sa Animal Channel.. Good luck, ahas ang story nila.. Super nag-freeze ako na I can't move my fingers para ilipat yung channel.. Pumikit na lang ako talaga.. Yung mga classmates ko, alam nilang super takot ako sa ahas, everytime na may palabas sa tv titetext nila me na manuod sa isang channel.. Tapos bigla ko na lang malalaman na may ahas pala sa palabas na yun..!! O kaya minsan naman sa emails..!! Grr..!! Kahit sa zoo, tumatalikod me pag may snake na makikita.. Hindi ko talaga kaya.. Promise..!! Kahit snake skin lang, like nung drums ni Dewi (yung small congo.. tama ba yun?).. or wallet, bag, shoes na snake skinned.. So, kung gusto niyo akong patayin, alam niyo na paano.. Pahabol, napanood ko pala yung Anaconda sa sinehan, minsan sa tv.. Pero NAKAPIKIT ako..!! Hehehe..

BUTI NA LANG.. The thing na I'm very thankful dahil hindi me babae is REGLA.. O, diba the term? Menstruation. Ang hirap kaya.. Kailangan magsuot ng napkin (depending sa flow and intensity).. Tapos pagnatagusan ka pa sa isang unexpected at minsan, importateng panahon.. Siyempre, ang amoy din.. Malansa.. Tapos yung itsura nung dugo.. Hay.. Ang sakit-sakit ng PMS.. Sa sobrang sakit, minsan you can't do the things you need to do.. Premenstrual Syndrome.. Naiiyak na nga yung iba sa sobrang sakit.. Sakit sakit ng puson.. O, diba parang na-feel ko na? Pero siyempre sa nakikita ko sa kapatid ko, sa mom ko, sa friends ko..

PERO HINDI RIN.. Mas kakayanin ko pa ang sakit ng PMS kaysa ng sakit sa puso.. Hahaha.. Mas gugustuhin ko ng maging babae at ma-experience ang pagreregla at mga sakit nito kaysa maging bading at masaktan.. Mas madali sa babae ang humanap ng lalake kaysa sa bading na humanap ng lalake.. LALAKE ah.. Hindi yung kung anu-anu.. (Wala akong pinatatamaan).. Hehehe.. Hindi naman talaga sumagi sa isipan ko ang maging babae.. At wala naman talaga siya sa mga plano ko sa buhay.. Sex change is never an option saakin.. NO WAY..!! Naiisip ko lang to minsan pag nasasaktan ako.. Pero don't get me wrong, I am not in pain ngayon.. Matagal na dapat 'tong post na 'to.. Ngayon ko lang nagawa..

A Thing Called MEME..

1. SINGING. Though I'm not a very good singer, I love to sing at the top of my lungs.. BIRIT ah..!! Well, infairness, about ko naman.. Hehehe.. Kahit saan, kahit kelan, gusto lang kumakanta talaga.

2. PAN DE COCO. Whenever I pass by a bakery, hay naku, kailangan makabili me ng pan de coco.. Sarap..!! May nabili na me na pan de coco na piso lang, minsan twelve pesos..

3. PROJECT RUNWAY. Pinakafavorite kong reality-tv show.. Every Thursday sa Travel and Living Channel.. "One day you're in, the next day you're out."

4. TSIKAHAN. Lahat ng bading mahilig tsumika.. Ang saya eh.. Daming bagong nalalaman.. At magugulat ka na lang sa mga madidiscover mo..!! Winner!!

5. PIZZA. Especially pag depress ako.. I want pizza..!! Kahit 3M Pizza pa yan..!! Sarap kaya ng 3M.. Yung ham and cheese lang.. *drooling*

6. INTERNET. Simula nang nagDSL kami, yun everyday na me nagnenet.. Blog.. Email.. Friendster.. Fabuloush.. Multiply..

7. MOVIES. I love watching movies.. lalo na pag big screen.. tsaka pag kasama an mga girl friends ko.. I wanna try IMAX sa SM Mall of Asia nga eh.. Parang ang ganda nya..

8. YOU TUBE. Recently lang to.. Esp pag videos ni Regine.. Lahat na ata napanuod ko..

9. NIECES. They are like the cutest.. Just check my friendster account..

10. BUDDHISM. Helps me deal with everyday life..

Sadness

Last week, for 3 straight nights I was at Julz's house.. Wake nung dad niya.. I don't kung ano reason why he died.. basta ang alam ko lang na-stroke na yun dati.. Bka nanghina na yung katawan.. ang kwento ni chels (yun tawag ko sa kanya) kausap lang daw ni mudang nila tapos tumalikod sa pagkakahiga then yun di na sumasagot.. Un..

Contrary, ang saya ng atmosphere sa burol.. daming bakla..!! hahaha.. tawanan galore.. and siyempre hindi mawawala ang "Casinos" sa burol.. mag nag-kakara kruz, tong-its, pusoy.. at ang dami ng pera ng mga tao.. KALA KO BA MAHIRAP ANG MGA PILIPINO? at eto pa ang nakakatawa.. kahit nawalan na ng ilaw, bumuhos ang malakas na ulan at nahulog na ang tolda.. THERE'S NO STOPPING THEM FROM PLAYING.. tuloy pa rin ang tayaan..!! hahahaha..

Dami rin tao pumunta.. Mga friends nya sa Don Bosco, UST, AA, GAP etc.. Sabi nga ng mga bading dun, "Reunion daw".. kasi dun na lang kami nagkikita-kita ulit..

Dapat punta me nung libing nung saturday.. pero naka-sked na yung outing ko nun eh.. kasama nga dapat chels eh.. siyempre di ko na siya pinasama kasi naman diba?

Sabi nga ni Jey.. "Mama (referring to me), ikaw na lang ang may pudra..!" Oo nga noh?! Sa aming badinggerlings (Me, Julz, Mai and Honorary Member Jey) ako nalang ang may pudra.. Yung kay Julz and Mai, syugok na.. Yung kay Jey naman di na nya nakikita.. nasa states..

Outing..!!

Saturday-Sunday.. Outing kami sa Laguna.. sa isang sikretong lugar.. bakit secret? hahaha.. amin na lang yun.. 15 dapat ang originally na kasama.. at biglang bago mag-Saturday.. wala na sila.. 6 nalang kaming natira.. hay.. that's life.. Me, Jey, Mark, Pibs, Roi, Jason.. kasama sin ichiko (jey and mark's baby!) we really had fun.. as in.. bonding galore.. inuman, videoke, swimming.. we ate lunch sa Laong Laan Restaurant.. Sarap ng Crispy Pata.. pumunta din kami sa SIOLAND (ang tanging supermarket na nakita namin dun!) to buy some stuff.. WALA SILANG PAPER PLATE NA BINEBENTA DUN..!!! diba ang taray..!! pag-uwi naman.. tulog lahat sa van.. pagod pero masaya.. next year daw Puerto naman daw.. Sana..

Natatawa Ako

Mt . Everest yan nasa pix.. Ndi ako natatawa sa itsura ng Mt. Everest o kung ano man about dun.. Natatawa ako sa mga climbers nito.. Diba may mga sariling expedition na ginawa ang bawat grupo na supported naman ng 2 giant networks.. Si Garduce was backed up by GMA 7 and yung the First Philippine Expedition Team was backed up by ABS-CBN 2.. Kaya ako natatawa is like this.. Xempre, super proud ang GMA kasi sila ang nauna na umakyat with Garduce.. Ang alam ko kasi may expedition TEAM na aakyat talaga.. pero nagulat ako mag-isa lang ito.. Naiisip ko tuloy ang feeling nya.. Anyway, tapos mga week/weeks later umalis na sa Pilipinas yung isang team kasama ang ABS-CBN.. Eh di since then on, super broadcast live na sila from Nepal.. Ang GMA may mga satellite chuva pa.. Sa ABS ndi ko alam kung meron.. Eto na.. Dito me natatawa.. Nauna na sa peak ng Mt. Everest si Oracion and Ermata (yung leader ng Expedition Team) tapos si Garduce medyo malapit na.. To think na nauna si Garduce sa kanila ng ilang mga days/weeks.. Diba? Sayang ang effort ng GMA 7.. Sa mga climbers naman, friendly competition lang naman daw yun.. Pero sa networks, I doubt.. So, sino ang nanalo sa dalawang network? Your guess is as good as mine.. Moral Lesson: "Ang nauuna, hindi lang unang dumarating!"

PARTYing at Hard Rock

last tuesday, some of my college classmates and I decided to meet up.. aleth, whose bf is part of a band who will be performing that night decided na dun na lang kami.. chikahan galore.. biruan.. just like college.. si ikay may boyfriend na apparently ay pupunta ng australia ang bf.. tapos break na yung the longest-running couple sa room namin.. nung feb pa pala.. super kalungkot kasi feeling namin, yun na talaga.. 4 yrs na sila.. fall out of love ang drama.. btw, the band na nagperform was super OK.. as in.. gaganda ng mga songs and ang boses.. winner..!! daming foreigner dun.. and yes, with their filipina wife or girlfriend.. tapos nakakatawa pa kasi may isang foreigner dun na mag-isa lang sa table.. tapos nung mejo lively na ang mga songs, sumayaw ng super performance level.. at mag-isa pa rin.. sabi ni aleth, ganun daw talaga yun.. ayaw magpapartner.. who says that "no man is an island"?? hahaha.. tapos may lasing na dun na fil-am gurl from new york.. nagdance xa ng sexy dance sa gitna.. bootyshaking pa xa.. at walang bra kaya bakatsina ang lola mo.. tapos pinaghihila nya yung mga classmates kong girls kasi gusto nya ng kasayaw.. babalik na daw siyang new york kaya gusto nyang magsaya man lang daw bago makaalis.. dba? ang saya.. i get to see my closest friends ulit.. sana we could do that often.. nakakmiss lang sila..

There is no greater happiness for human beings than chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo. The sutra says, "The people there [in my land] are happy and at ease. "Happy and at ease" here means the joy derived from the Law. You are obviously included among the "people," and "there" indicates the entire world, which includes Japan. "Happy and at ease" means to know that our lives--both our bodies and minds, ourselves and our surroundings--are the entities of ichinen sanzen and the Buddha of absolute freedom. There is no greater happiness than having faith in the Lotus Sutra. It promises us "peace and security in this life and good circumstances in the next. Never let life's hardships disturb you. After all, no one can avoid problems, not even saints or sages. (HAPPINESS IN THIS WORLD, Major Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, Vol 1, p 161)

we just had to pay the venue lang..
