I've just finished ung bago kong kinababaliwang reality show.. Wala pa siya dito sa pinas.. Sa DVD ko lang napanuod.. 1st was Top Design.. and last was Shear Genius..

panalo! parang siyang Hair Asia ang level.. Naku pag ito ay na-franchise ng Pinas, sino kaya ang magiging host nito? Well, depende sa network na bibili..

Pag channel 2, Fanny Serrano ang host nito. Pag channel 7, sino nga ba? One thing's for sure, si Louie Ignacio ang direktor nito. So, good luck! At pag channel 9 ang bumili, asahan nyo ng si Gandang Ricky Reyes yan ang magiging host nito. Sinong bet nyo?

About hair-do's, bob ngayon ang inaachieve kong look. Dati kong hair ay mala katie holmes. Tapos naging mas bet ko na ang Gretchen Barretto bob. Tapos after a week, Victoria Beckham bob na ang bet ko! Nasa buhok ko kaya ang susi ng aking success patungo sa pagkakaroon ng lalakeng gwapo? Tignan mo si Katie, may Tom. Si Victoria, may ultra tangina hot na si David. Si Gretchen, un, si Gretchen may mabait na asawa! Hahaha.. Pag humaba na ulit ang buhok ko, try ko ulit i-achieve ang Gretchen Barretto bob. At pag super humaba na ang hair ko, the ultimate bob na talaga ng i-aachieve ko. The Nancy Kwan bob, the signature bob of Vidal Sassoon! Taray ng lola mo. Asian! Napansin pa siya ni Vidal Sassoon! (Hindi shampoo si Vidal Sassoon ah!!)

Mistaken Identity

Noong October 26, nadukot ang fone ko. Habang ako'y nag-aabang ng FX na masasakyan. Kung sino man siya, sana natulungan ko siya. Pero good luck sayo, ipapablock ko yang fone ko sa NTC! Malas nya! (kung siya ang gumagamit..) Malas ng binentahan nya (pag nabenta nya sa iba!) Pakasaya ka/kayo.. May 15 days pa kayo para gamitin yan!

Saan dyan ang mistaken identity? Wala pa kasi. Nagmamadali? May taxi bang nakaabang?

Noong gabi, I met up with friend. Medyo late na rin nakauwi. Alam mo naman sa Quezon Ave pag mga 12 na. Nagkalat ang mga ate mong maghilig mamulot. mga pick-up stick gurls.. Gurls = Badiday! Dun ako nag-aabang ng jeep pa Lawton. Near Welcome Rotonda kami. Ng biglang may dumaan na SUV. Tangina! Napagkalaman ba naman akong pokpok! To think magkaiba kami ng outfit ng mga ate mo ah. Hindi ako naka-puke shorts or naka-skirt! Sobrang parang slow motion ang pangyayari. Grabe. Sobrang narerecall ko siya in details. Sobrang ang sakit ng loob ko nun. Ung parang sinaksak ka! Shit. I have nothing against sa mga ate ko naman. Kung dun ba sila masaya, go! Hindi naman ako nagpapakain sa kanila diba? Nakakainis lang ung mga tao!

Mahirap palang maging bading na nag-aabang ng sasakyan paauwi.

Theater Talk with Floy Quintos

<--- That's her (her talaga diba?), the yoga instructor Floy Quintos. Ching! Naka-lotus position talaga. Very Buddhist. Hindi naman ata siya Buddhist, ndi ko yun nabasa sa binigay na handouts about his life. Sabi nga nya, "Yan alam nyo na 46 na ako!" Hindi halata ah.

The talk obviously was about theater (naman, the title!). Floy (first name basis diba?) discussed the need for theater, why do we need to appreciate it, how to critique a play/production (elements of the play, etc.) and how bloggers can help the industry.

Nakakatuwa yung mga anecdotes and kwento nya about sa mga production na he did and yung mga napanuod nya. Honestly, ZsaZsa was the last production I've seen (except for AA's plays, of course). Kaya wit talaga me maka-relate sa Romvlvs. Mega asks si Direk Floy sa mga bloggers kung ano bang plays ang napanuod chu chu chu chu. Dead ma ang majority. Pero ng sinabi ang magic words, "ZsaZsa Zaturnah!" Yan mega talk tv ang mga tao. Galak na galak talaga ang lahat. Nabuhayan ng pag-asa.

Flash back: Hindi talaga dapat ako kasama sa kasiyahang iyon. May prior engagement kasi ako (celebrity?!). Eh na-cancel the day before this, so mega register ako. Nakita ko ang confirmation sa email ko, ngunit na-delete ko dahil sa Junk Mail pumasok. So wit ko alam kung ano na. Email akech kay Migs. Sabi niya he'll wait for my confirmation. Naka-email akech ng confirmation ko pero late na. Tapos ndi nadukutan pa ako ng fone nung morning (26th), so good luck diba? Hindi ko talaga marereceive ang tawag ng confirmation. So sa day mismo ng event, I texted Jhey. He gave me Gibbs's number. Yun tapos everything else is history. Chos!

Going back. Sa talk na ito, narealize ko na kulang pa ang kaalaman ko sa teatro. Dapat na talaga akong manuod muli ng mga produksyon. Dami kong namimiss na bagay bagay. Natapos ang talk, raffle na! Diba taray?! At ang unang tinawag sa raffle ay si RICHARD RAYMOND. Nakakaloka!!!! Nanalo akech ng CCP bag. Pero ang bongga ang ang effort na CD from Gibbs. Major burning talaga. Gosh. "Ang minsan ang minahal ay ako..."

Lafangan moment na sa rooftop. Chika chika with people. Siyanga pala, si Ederic nga pala ang partner ko sa sharing moment! Chika chika. Picture picture. Nag-coffee after sa Baang. Kasama namin si James, our new found friend!

Alam naman nating lahat na thanks to Adobe Photoshop ang larawang ito. Ngunit hindi tungkol dyan ang postsina ko.

Wit talaga nag-isistopchina ang tsimaks tungkol ditey kela Piolo at Sam.

Ngayon namanchi, ang "date" nilang dalawa sa Sofitel na na-sightchung ni Manay Lolit Solis. If I may quotable quote her, "Magkadikit yong pisngi 'tapos bumubulong 'yong isa dun sa tenga nung isa." Congratulations to Manay.

Nang lumabas ang balitang itey sa column ni Manay, todo labas ng statements of the year ang dalawang involve. Si Piolo, according to Timex, eh may pictorial ala America's Next Top Model with noted fashion photographer, Raymund Isaac. Xempre, may I say din si Angel Locsin na mission impossible na nandun si Piolo sa Sofitel kasi magka-joma ang dalawa sa nasabing pictorial. Itech naman si Sam, through his manager (akala ko nga maglalabas ng statement ang Swift Hotdog eh), eh nsa Essentuals Toni & Guy ang Sam at nagpaparlor!

Sa makashuwid, ang lumalabas, "two places at the same time" ang drama nitong dalawa. hmm. panalo ang super powers nila ah. or may magaling silang impersonator dalawa. at take note, wit lang magaling na impersonator, makyoman pa! sa sofitel nagdedate eh.

Sa kwentong ito, may nagsisinungaling obviously. 2 versus 1 ang drama. Sinong kampo krame ang nagsesay ng trulala? Sinech naman ang liar liar go to hell.

Realization

Everyday, we are faced with choices/options.

Sometimes, we can decide right there and then.

Recently, I've come to my senses.
I know now what I want.

Pero dahil takam na takam na ako sa chicken joy, Jollibee kami nagtake-out.

Dun ko narealize nung kinakain ko na siya sa bahay na mali ako ng desisyon.
Hindi na ito ang chicken joy na kinalakihan ko.
Hindi na siya malinamnam.
Hindi na siya malasa.

Mas masarap na para saakin ang Chicken McDo.

Buddhism in Daily Life

Human Revolution

Buddhism is characterized by an emphasis on the possibility of inner transformation--a process of bringing forth our full human potential. There is a common perception that the discipline and focus necessary for such a process requires a set of ideal circumstances not available to most. Nichiren Buddhism, however, teaches that it is only by squarely facing the challenges that confront us amidst the harsh contradictions of society that we can carry out the task of changing our own lives and the world for the better.

"Human revolution" is the term used by second Soka Gakkai President Josei Toda to describe a fundamental process of inner transformation whereby we break through the shackles of our "lesser self," bound by self-concern and the ego, growing in altruism toward a "greater self" capable of caring and taking action for the sake of others--ultimately all humanity.

As SGI President Daisaku Ikeda explains: "There are all sorts of revolutions: political revolutions, economic revolutions, industrial revolutions, scientific revolutions, artistic revolutions...but no matter what one changes, the world will never get any better as long as people themselves...remain selfish and lacking in compassion. In that respect, human revolution is the most fundamental of all revolutions, and at the same time, the most necessary revolution for humankind."

The question of how to change in a positive direction is one which has spawned countless theories, religions and publishing empires. Certainly, self-discipline and effort can enable us to make positive change, for example by starting to exercise regularly. But the willpower required is often hard to maintain; our self-control may slip at a crucial moment because we have not addressed the underlying, inner causes of our behavior.

Human revolution is the work of transforming our lives at the very core. It involves identifying and challenging those things which inhibit the full expression of our positive potential and humanity. Nichiren Buddhism is based on belief in a pure, positive and enlightened condition of life which exists equally within all people. This life state of "Buddhahood" is characterized by the qualities of compassion, wisdom and courage which enable us to create something of value from any situation. Nichiren realized that the deepest process of change and purification takes place when we bring forth this state, and he taught the practice of chanting "Nam-myoho-renge-kyo" as the direct and immediate means for accessing and experiencing it.

This Buddha nature expresses itself in concrete ways. First, we gain the conviction that our life contains limitless possibilities and a profound sense of our human dignity. Second, we develop the wisdom to understand that things that we previously thought impossible are in fact possible. And third, we develop a powerful vitality that allows us to tackle our problems with a sense of inner liberation. We are thus empowered to pursue our own human revolution, striving to improve our "self" from yesterday to today and making the "self" of tomorrow better still.

In some traditions of Buddhism, interpretations of the law of cause and effect can encourage a focus on negative past causes. The obstacles and challenges encountered in life may be seen as requiring lifetimes of effort to "clean up." The message of the Lotus Sutra and Nichiren Buddhism is that through faith and practice we can reveal Buddhahood: our highest, most enlightened state of life right now, just as we are. This enlightened wisdom enables us to grasp the reality that circumstances which may seem the most unfortunate, be it seemingly incurable illness or bereavement, can actually provide the best opportunities for tackling our human revolution and the impetus for the greatest personal growth.

When we look beyond our personal concerns and take action for the sake of others, this process is strengthened and accelerated. An experience which previously seemed like an unjust burden can become the key to finding the purpose of our lives, as we learn how to help others struggling in a similar situation.

This individual process of human revolution is the very key to sparking change on a global scale. For, as Daisaku Ikeda writes, "A great human revolution in just a single person will help achieve a change in the destiny of a nation and, further, will cause a change in the destiny of all humankind." Taking responsibility for transforming our own lives is the first step toward creating a human society based on compassion and respect for the dignity of all people's lives.

Mooncake Festival

The Mid-Autumn Festival (Simplified Chinese: 中秋节; Traditional Chinese: 中秋節; pinyin: zhōngqiūjié), also known as the Moon Festival, is a popular East Asian celebration of abundance and togetherness, dating back over 3,000 years to China's Zhou Dynasty. In Malaysia and Singapore, it is also sometimes referred to as the Lantern Festival or "Mooncake Festival", which is just the same as "Mid-Autumn Festival" but with different names.

The Mid-Autumn Festival falls on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month of the Chinese calendar (usually around mid- or late-September in the Gregorian calendar), a date that parallels the Autumn Equinox of the solar calendar. This is the ideal time, when the moon is at its fullest and brightest, to celebrate the abundance of the summer's harvest. The traditional food of this festival is the mooncake, of which there are many different varieties.

The Mid-Autumn Festival is one of the two most important holidays in the Chinese calendar (the other being the Chinese Lunar New Year), and is a legal holiday in several countries. Farmers celebrate the end of the summer harvesting season on this date. Traditionally, on this day, Chinese family members and friends will gather to admire the bright mid-autumn harvest moon, and eat moon cakes and pomeloes together.

Accompanying the celebration, there are additional cultural or regional customs, such as:

Eating moon cakes outside under the moon
Putting pomelo rinds on one's head
Carrying brightly lit lanterns
Burning incense in reverence to deities including Chang'e
Planting Mid-Autumn trees
Lighting lanterns on towers
Fire Dragon Dances
